Pisano - Cisplatino Tannat - 2024
This cuvée from Pisano is born in Progreso, in the department of Canelones, north of Montevideo, where the family planted its first vines in 1914. The proximity of the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean gives the vineyard a temperate oceanic climate, sunny but cooled by sea breezes. The grassed vineyards extend over low-acidity clay-limestone soils, the chosen land of Tannat, the estate's speciality.Tannat, a grape variety originating in South-West France and the most widely planted in the vineyard, is renowned for its exceptional richness in tannins and polyphenols. After fermentation, the wine is aged for four months in French oak barrels, a short spell that rounds out the structure without masking the fruit and preserves the balance between power and freshness. This wine reveals notes of plum, blueberry, blackberry, violet, chocolate, toasted bread, pepper and a smoky note. The palate is dry, structured and concentrated, with firm tannins balanced by lively acidity, and an elegant, persistent finish with spicy nuances.
