Sterling Silver Owl Pendant – Barn Owl Jewelry With Heart Shaped Charm

This well defined little heart shaped barn owl face is cast in solid sterling and is just a hair under 1/2" in diameter. It has a nice thickness with a solid flat back providing a nice area for engraving a date or initials. The beautiful detail of this little piece invites admirers to approach for a closer look. It will arrive on a fine link chain with matching lobster clasp. A very tasteful gift for that owl lover that we all seem to know and love. The Barn Owl (Tyto alba) is easily identified by its whitish heart-shaped face, black eyes, pale, lightly speckled under parts, and long legs. Unlike many other owls that hoot or whistle, the Barn Owl's call consists of hisses, screams, cries and other strange noises. This adaptable owl nests in barns and abandoned buildings, but it also uses natural cavities in trees, or holes in cliff faces, as it did long before the arrival of Europeans in North America. It lives year round at its nest site and hunts for rodents over orchards, and grassland type habitats, including farmlands, fields and meadows.
