Glen Mhor 8 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail 1990s
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 40% An 8-year-old Glen Mhor single malt Scotch whisky, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail during the 1990s at 40%. This vintage bottling features the traditional Glen Mhor label, complete with an illustration of Inverness Castle, and comes from a period when Gordon & MacPhail continued to release whisky from several long-closed Scottish distilleries. Glen Mhor Distillery was established in 1892 in Inverness by John Birnie and James Mackinlay, alongside the Caledonian Canal. The distillery was closely associated with the Mackinlay's blended Scotch whisky brand and operated for over 90 years before being closed by its then-owner, DCL, in 1983. The buildings were subsequently demolished in 1986, making Glen Mhor one of Scotland's lost Highland distilleries. Gordon & MacPhail maintained a long-standing relationship with Glen Mhor, bottling the distillery's whisky under its own label for many years. This 8-year-old release offers an opportunity to explore the character of a historic Inverness distillery whose whisky has become increasingly difficult to find, particularly in these older independent bottlings.
