Ibex Against Gravity

An Alpine ibex moves across a near-vertical rock face, captured at the moment when strength, balance and instinct seem to challenge gravity itself. Dust and fragments of stone remain suspended around him, while the surrounding rock disappears into deep shadow. The monochrome composition strips the scene back to its essential elements: the animal, the rock and the movement between them. Dramatic light and deep tonal contrasts give the work a raw yet refined character, transforming a fleeting Alpine moment into something almost sculptural and timeless. This work is part of the ArtDarts Fine Art Series and is produced exclusively on Hahnemühle Matte Fine Art Surface, mounted on Alu-Dibond. Its deeply matte, subtly textured surface brings exceptional depth to the blacks and preserves delicate tonal transitions while minimising distracting reflections.
