White Turtlehead (Chelone glabra)

White Turtlehead (Chelone glabra) has beautiful white blossoms that attract butterflies, bumblebees, and ruby-throated hummingbirds. They do well as border or wet meadow plantings that will provide a late summer bloom. The foliage of these plants are the larval host to our state butterfly, the Baltimore Checkerspot, which is currently listed as a rare and vulnerable species.
