German WWII RAD Labor Corps Rug Beater-This has a wooden handle with the 6 leather straps which are intact. The wooden handle is well worn, but any old scratches are worn smooth. The handle measures 11 inches (27.94cm) long, with the whole length measuring 27 inches (68.58cm). This would have been used by RAD members when dusting down blankets, tunics etc. This is also how they would clean rugs before the invention of the vacuum. You would hang the rug up and beat the heck out of it. This would make an interesting display item.
