This piece was fired in the very front row of the first firing after the kiln’s rebuilding, where it received the strongest effects of heat and wood ash, as seen in the kiln interior photo in the follwoing blog. Shinohara Takashi's kiln collapsed in the major earthquake of January 1, 2024, and was later damaged by flooding before finally being rebuilt in October 2025.
