BOOMERANG WANGIM RARE AUSTRALIAN GIDGEE GUGRA POSSUM CLOAK DESIGN

Medium Gugra the Possum Cloak Design Wangim / Boomerang. Hand Crafted in Australia by Ngarga Warendj from Australian Gidgee (a type of acacia). Gidgee is a rare timber. Measures 500 mm All artefacts come with an information card. The card has information about the artist, artefact and design. Walert the Possum feeds at night and sleeps during the day. We use possum skins to make Gugra, or possum skin cloaks, which we wear to keep warm. These cloaks are decorated with our designs and are worn during traditional ceremony. All our wangim are made from timber collected from tree roots or branches that have a natural bend. All designs are based on traditional symbols from South East Australia
