A striking large Sumba Ikat Hingii Kombu Depicting mythical sea creatures & figures Note the end panel with supplementary thread weaving. The human motifs are noteworthy. Indigo and reds The central section with geometric patterns stands out! The numerous figures clearly symbolise something that needs further study. 246 cm x 122 cm Good condition. Stated to be early 20th century by the previous collector. Collected from the field in the 1980s.
