Meltdown - Original Painting

Painted after my residency in Glacier National Park (Canada), this piece captures the Illecillewaet Glacier as viewed from the Avalanche Crest Trail. I started with historic photographs of the glacier to paint its full extent from over 100 years ago nearly reaching valley bottom, then added layers of paint to "melt" the ice to its new position in 2025, capturing the process in video. 18" x 36” original acrylic painting on 1.5″ depth gallery-wrapped canvas.
