Q&A with Fruity Knitting
Date: Saturday 11th July, 2026 Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm BST (GMT+1) Please be aware that this is a pre-recorded session. You will receive a secret link to the YouTube video shortly before the scheduled time. We sit down with Andrea and Madeleine of Fruity Knitting to learn how they bring their wonderful podcast to life, what their retreats entail and their exciting foray into creating their first yarn range – spun by us! It is no surprise that Fruity Knitting is one of the most beloved craft podcasts out there, as Andrea and Madeleine’s dedication and passion for their subject matter is unmistakable. They’ve very kindly agreed to sit down with us as part of our Virtual MOW and let us pick their brains about how they find such wonderful guests and bring their podcast to life – so looking forward to having an insight into their unique process. In this session we're also going to talk to Fruity Knitting about where they get their inspiration, what it is like at one of their brilliant retreats and how they’ve found the process of designing yarn from selecting the colour palette all the way through to the excitement of seeing designers creating with the finished yarn. It is one of many events being planned for our Virtual Mill Open Weekend celebrations. See everything we're planning for this year's Virtual MOW. Thanks for joining in with our annual bash! - The Mill Folk x Guest Bio: Andrea and Madeleine of Artisan Fibres are the mother and daughter team known for the Fruity Knitting YouTube Channel. After years of interviewing designers, farmers and spinning mills worldwide, we partnered with John Arbon Textiles to create our own range of exquisite, lightly heathered yarns. The colours of our Fruity Knitting Sport range are inspired by our beautiful home, Australia. From the shimmering opals of Coober Pedy to the tranquil waters of a billabong, and the vivid hues of native plants, birds, and cherished childhood memories. Each shade shines on its own, yet blends beautifully with the others. The blend of 90% Falklands Corriedale and 10% silk, spun in four plies, makes Fruity Knitting Sport a soft, smooth yarn with lovely stitch definition and drape.
