Checkered Gourds

Hand-woven in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, these round gourd-shaped baskets are made by twisting strips of palm fibre into rope, then coiling to form the final shape. The two-toned contrasting colours and robust weave give each piece a strong presence a sculptural piece in any space. Checkered gourds are available in 3 sizes: Small measures approximately 26cm wide x 18cm high x 13cm across base. Medium measures approximately 34cm wide x 26cm high x 16cm across base. Large measures approximately 42-48cm wide x 34-38cm high x 20cm across base. Due to the handmade nature of these products, each piece may vary slightly in shape and characteristics.
