The Adelaide Hills' cool, elevated climate — sitting between 400–700m altitude — gives Pinot Gris a freshness and texture rarely seen in the variety elsewhere in Australia, with the Scary Gully site delivering characteristic spice, weight, and aromatic complexity Taste Profile: Consistent across vintages, Ego is the Enemy delivers huge aroma following fermentation in concrete egg: sherbet lemons, pears, and honeycomb, with a softly toasted hint of shortbread from lees contact. The mid-palate has a little kick — black pepper and ruby grapefruit. It gives the perception of sweetness with aromatics of pear drops and lemon zest — slippery smooth at the front with grip at the back palate.
