The ascendent producer in a mainstay of the Osaka scene and has been on Sally’s radar in recent times thanks to a standout EP on Physical Education that had a “real driving breaky old skool” vibe she loves. Elsewhere he’s dropped the tight ‘Not C but K’ on Homage, remixes of Gearmaster on Hidden Assets and material on Mindhelmet and Tombolo. His contribution to the BSC cannon is thrilling from the get-go. The lead ‘Play Somethin’ Nasty’ is a natural born Chunker, bursting with attitude and sass. Simultaneously colourful, yet cohesive, it mixes up playful hip house vocals with plump b-lines and plenty of rave energy, before a squelchy bass frenzy highlights the second stanza. ‘Funky Blah Blah’ is informed by ‘90s Italo and funky house and is a cute bridging track with plenty of character.
