Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm's quiet periods; midsummer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.The barley variety Publican was grown in the 43ac field and harvested by John and Sandy on the 28th & 29th August 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010.This first fill oloroso sherry butt was picked by LMDW. It was distilled in our Winter season being filled on the 23rd December 2011 and have been matured on the ground floor of the warehouse at Daftmill before being bottled exclusively for COLLECTION ITINÉRAIRES.
