Here, Hamilton is depicted overlooking his seven world titles – one represented in red and silver for McLaren, and six in Petronas green and silver – each marked with an abalone centre star. The portrait is rendered in Vince’s signature style using glue chipped glass and 24 carat gold leaf, created in 4mm float glass. The surface carries both precision and unpredictability, with each piece forming its own distinct pattern through the nature of the process. In addition to his established technique, Vince has introduced a glass crystal detail to represent Hamilton’s nose stud – a subtle but personal reference that sets this work apart. Due to this addition, the piece is displayed behind a pane of reflection-free art glass and mounted in a satin black frame with a gold sight line, designed to fully enhance the depth and presence of the gilded surface.
