Between Sets

Travel Diary: Just looking at this painting brings back memories of exploration. Some days, the group would split up to find new waves that the larger boat couldn’t get close to. We’d pack the boat and bounce between islands in search of that perfect wave. Our captain was so in tune with the ocean, he’d see a ripple a mile away that looked as flat as a lake. We’d pull up and he’d say, ‘jump in’. You wouldn’t even see a wave, then all of a sudden a set would come in and boom, a session would start.
