The postcards in the works on display were collected in India and the UK by the Gilbert & George, creating “ubiquitous mirrors of people, things, and places familiar to the widest possible audience” at the time. The ‘WORLDS and WINDOWS’ postcard pictures have not been exhibited since 1990. Featuring an introductory text by Robert Rosenblum (art historian and curator) this book includes 129 vibrant colour photographs illustrating the entirety of the of the ‘WORLDS and WINDOWS’.
