James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The Pepper family brand is the oldest whiskey made in Kentucky, dating back to 1780 with the designation of DSP-KY-5. The 1776 label was created in 2012 as an entry level into the brand, and has become a benchmark bottle in its price point. Dark corn on the nose with a touch of sour mash, medium caramel, and medium spice. Equal parts smooth and punchy, with a good savory herb mid palate and spicy finish. – ABV: 50%
