Very polished with fine tannins that finish intensely. It’s a medium-to full-bodied red with focus. Blackberry and blackcurrant flavors. Hints of tobacco and nutmeg, too. 95-96 points James Suckling The 2021 La Fleur-Pétrus is a regal, elegant wine. Rich and sumptuous, yet classically medium in body, the 2021 is impeccably balanced from start to finish. A rush of red/purplish fruit, rose petal, mint, blood orange and cinnamon build into the exquisite, layered finish. The 2021 reinforces my view that La Fleur-Pétrus is the wine to focus on in the Moueix range. Hosanna and, especially Trotanoy, are more famous, to be sure, but in 2021 those wines are heavily shaped by the growing conditions of the year, while La Fleur-Pétrus is simply La Fleur-Pétrus.
