Training Overview Advanced Operations / Pilot Certificate Build the knowledge and confidence needed for Advanced RPAS Operations with a focused 3-day program designed to support both exam preparation and real-world flight readiness. This course combines structured classroom learning with hands-on flight training and an included flight review to prepare you for safe, compliant operations in controlled airspace. Key Notes Transport Canada recognized and approved flight school. 3-day program: 2 days classroom, 1 day practical with flight review included. Designed to prepare candidates for the Advanced RPAS exam and in-person flight review. Training is delivered at a predetermined location. Classroom (2 days) RPAS regulations modules include: 1. RPAS Regulations Advanced operations rules, pilot responsibilities, controlled airspace, compliance requirements, and documentation. 2. RPAS Airframe Aircraft systems, propulsion, batteries, sensors, control links, maintenance awareness, and pre-flight checks. 3. Human Factors Situational awareness, workload management, communication, fatigue, and decision-making in higher-pressure environments. 4. Meteorology Weather interpretation, wind effects, local weather influences, and weather-based GO/NO-GO decisions. 5. Navigation Airspace structure, VNC use, NOTAMs, coordinates, route planning, and navigation in complex operating areas. 6. Flight Operations Site surveys, risk assessments, SOPs, checklists, emergency planning, and operational readiness. 7. Theory of Flight Lift, drag, thrust, stability, aircraft performance, and environmental factors affecting safe operation. 8. Radiotelephony Radio procedures, phraseology, position reporting, and coordination in controlled and uncontrolled airspace. Practical (1 day + Flight Review) Hands-on flight training is focused on real-world operational scenarios and flight review readiness. The final portion of the day includes an in-person flight review aligned with Advanced Operations requirements. Pre-flight procedures: Site setup, airspace checks, mission planning, crew briefings, and aircraft readiness. Core maneuvers: Controlled take-offs and landings, hovering, directional movement, and smooth yaw control. Advanced maneuvering: Coordinated turns, altitude changes, and controlled positioning. Precision flying: Obstacle awareness and maintaining position in controlled environments. Controlled airspace operations: Communication awareness, positioning, and operational discipline. Emergency procedures: Return-to-home, loss-of-link response, and low-battery actions. Flight review execution: Demonstration of safe flight, communication, procedures, and operational readiness.
