Heavy Cane

Since 2014, we've archived a case or two of every Australian spirit we've produced at both our Rosebery and Botany Distilleries. We're now dropping a limited selection of this archive stock online, giving you the opportunity to grab a final bottle of your favourite Archie Rose spirit. At Archie Rose, we love a “heavy” rum, white or dark. What does that mean? It means a rum with big, bold, dense flavours. A seriously rich drinking experience. From this comes the inspiration for #17 in our Trials & Exceptions series, an Australian cane spirit known in other countries as a white rum, which we’ve simply called Heavy Cane. It's a tribute to this style of spirit in its purest form - unaged and unblended - revealing the power of Australian sugarcane. Think of it like mezcal for rum drinkers. Distilled from long-fermented, sustainably sourced NSW blackstrap molasses, we've used a flavour-packed yeast strain and bottled it at 50% ABV.
