This late 1955 Gibson Les Paul Model goldtop with factory Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece is 100% original and an excellent player! It even retains its original (but often cracked) output jack plate. The original Lifton case is as clean as the guitar. Measurements: 8.7lbs (3.9 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.7" (1 11/16", 43mm) wide at the nut, 0.91" deep at the first fret, and 0.98" deep at the 12th fret (fat profile). The neck pickup reads 8.03k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.13k ohms. Dates: The potentiometer date codes read "542" indicating that they were manufactured during the 42nd week of 1955. The six digit ink stamped serial number beginning with "5" indicates that it was made in late 1955. Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original to this guitar. Playability: Excellent. The neck is straight, frets have little wear, and the electronics operate as intended. Condition: Good! Many of the Goldtop Les Pauls in this serial number range have similar features including light orange peel texture on the gold and deep, square finish checking. The finish has been inspected by Vintage Verified which detected no evidence of aftermarket finish modification or repair. Included: The original Lifton skinny waist hardshell case is included. Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
