The palate is bright with crisp acidity and fine, delicate tannins providing gentle structure, leading to a clean, elegant finish. “As I prepare to release my very first Pinot Noir, I find myself reflecting on where it all began. My love for Pinot Noir was found in the United States, where I made wines from small pockets in the Sonoma Valley. It was truly a privilege, for which I am forever grateful. Now, living back in SA, it only felt right to be making my own Pinot Noir in honour of one special lady that means a lot to our family, named Edith May (prefers to be called May). A Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Born in 1934. At 91, she still has an exceptional memory and plenty of stories to share. The Edith May Wines journey is only just beginning and who knows where the road may take us. For now, it begins with a Pinot Noir from a vineyard in the cool-climate Elgin Valley – a wine bottled on the 14th November 2025, May’s 91st birthday.
