Scraps & Stash w/ Park Williams

Got bags, baskets, & bins full of bits, bobs, skeins & scraps? Let’s put them to WORK. Different dye-lots? Who cares! Different fiber make-ups? No problem! Let’s use up the random scraps we have! Let’s buy the random skein that calls to us! Knitting should be FUN! In this workshop, we will learn the simple, but liberating technique of holding together strands of scrap and stash yarn in all different weights, fibers, and colors to turn simple knitted items into something entirely our own. You will leave the class looking at your yarn collection with fresh eyes and real excitement. We are truly over-the-moon to welcome Park to Philadelphia alongside our yarny Mt. Airy neighbors, Kelbourne Woolens. Please note this workshop takes place at Kelbourne Woolens - a hop, skip, and a jump (one mile) away from Wild Hand! Teaching Artist Park Williams is an Idaho-raised, Chicago-based knitwear designer, theatre maker & cozy life lover. Interested in sparking curiosity & encouraging play, Park’s goal as a designer is to create patterns which offer knitters both the freedom and framework to make something entirely their own. Skills + Materials This is a beginner+ workshop; basic knitting skills are needed (casting-on, binding-off, knitting, and purling). Workshop yarns are included in the fee. Students shoudl plan to bring one set of knitting needles (US10, US10.5, or US11 - these can be straight or circular and in any length). Cancellation + Make-up Policy We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. You may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration within one week of the workshop we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund; cancellations made less than one week in advance will not be refunded. We are unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshop session(s). Student Discount Students get a one-time 10% student discount that is active at the first workshop session and expires two weeks following the final workshop session. You will receive your discount code at the first first session.
