We’re kicking off a brand-new Thursday night mini-series this September, and we’re going posh. Next stop: Bordeaux This is one for the proper wine lovers. We’ll be opening some of the best bottles we can get our hands on and taking a deeper dive into one of the most famous wine regions on the planet. We’ll explore the Left Bank, Right Bank and some of Bordeaux’s most celebrated appellations, looking at how Cabernet and Merlot behave across different soils and sites. We’ll get stuck into blends, vintages, classifications and ageing, and try to make sense of why one château can command considerably more money than the one just down the road. Hosted by Evelyn, expect classic Claret, top producers, some very smart bottles and something properly special with a bit of age behind it to finish. No stuffiness. No wine snobbery. Just a chance to taste some properly brilliant Bordeaux and understand why wine lovers get so obsessed with the place. Posh wines. Proper deep dive. Still Very much Vino Gusto.
