Painted clay molcajete. C. 1940's

Lovely hand-painted clay molcajete. Three-legged with large flowers on the outside and hand carved interior. No pestle, likely from Michoacan or Jalisco. Clay molcajetes are used in areas where stone is not available, or for special grinding needs. Unmarked. Dimensions 9.25" D x 3" H Circa 1940's Condition Very Good, consistent with age and use Our vintage pieces show the passage of time as we leave them in the original condition in which they were found.
