An antique English serving platter by Wedgwood, dating to the late 19th century and beautifully representative of the Victorian Aesthetic Movement. The oval platter features an intricate black transferware border divided into alternating floral and foliate panels, accented with vibrant red detailing and delicate hand-colored pink blossoms. A bright red rim completes the richly layered design against Wedgwood's warm cream-colored earthenware body. The reverse is impressed WEDGWOOD and bears the hand-painted pattern number A2031. The lack of an England country mark, together with the A-series pattern number, places the piece in the late 19th century, approximately circa 1880.
