Antique 1900c 9ct Gold Natural Pink Sapphire & Diamond Star Set Gypsy Ring
A beautifully romantic survivor from the turn of the 20th century, this antique 9ct rose gold, natural pink sapphire and diamond ring dates precisely to the year 1900 — a piece created at the meeting point between the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and still every bit as enchanting more than 125 years later. Crafted from solid 9ct gold with a wonderfully subtle old rose hue, the ring has the warmth and character that is so difficult to replicate in modern jewellery. Across its broad, beautifully proportioned face sits three natural gemstones — a captivating natural pink sapphire at the centre, flanked on either side by a natural diamond. Each gemstone is nestled low into its own defined panel and surrounded by a dramatic engraved starburst setting. The radiating points catch the light beautifully and give the stones an almost celestial appearance, while raised linear divisions between the three panels lend the ring its distinctive architectural character. Look a little closer and there is even more to love. The shoulders have been decorated with delicate hand-engraved scrolling flourishes, softening the strong panelled design and providing a wonderful reminder of the craftsmanship that went into jewellery of this period. The combination of warm old rose gold, sparkling diamonds, romantic pink sapphire and hand-worked detail gives this piece an unmistakably antique soul. The traditional three-stone arrangement also lends itself beautifully to romance. Three-stone rings have long been associated with the sentiment of past, present and future — making this 1900 treasure an especially meaningful choice for celebrating love and commitment. A Remarkable Alternative Engagement or Wedding Ring For someone who feels that their love story deserves something with a story of its own, this ring would make an absolutely fabulous modern-day engagement ring, wedding band or commitment ring. Unlike a newly manufactured ring, this piece has already travelled through more than a century of history. Its low-profile, substantial band design feels wonderfully wearable, while the pink sapphire introduces a gentle touch of colour without overwhelming the beautiful antique character of the gold. There is something particularly romantic about choosing an engagement or wedding ring that was crafted in 1900. It has survived generations, fashions and changing times — and is now ready to become part of somebody else's story. The pink sapphire is also a beautiful choice for a romantic jewel, its delicate rosy colouring traditionally associated with love, affection and tenderness, while diamonds remain an enduring symbol of strength and lasting commitment. Whether chosen as an unconventional engagement ring, an antique wedding ring, a meaningful anniversary piece or simply an exceptional addition to a collection of old gold, this is a ring with history, craftsmanship and romance in equal measure.
