Antique Vintage German Opaline Reinlicht Solal Daylight Ceiling Pendant Light By Reinlicht-Werke AG
- An original and extremely rare Reinlicht Solal ceiling pendant by Reinlicht-Werke AG, with original chain and ceiling rose, Germany circa 1920. - These pendants were unique in the fact that they were designed to reproduce daylight with the manufacture of blue glass etched inside the fluted body and lower dish. - The light is composed of two glass sections joined by a beautiful brass ring, the upper opaline white with a blue lining inside, the lower dish blue, remnants of the 'Reinlicht Solal' stamp to the underneath. - Height 60cm, Width 25cm, Depth 25cm. - Rewired in braided flex and PAT tested. Reinlicht Solal is a highly collectible Art Deco and Bauhaus-era lamp from the early Twentieth Century, created by the German Reinlicht-Werke AG in Munich and often partnering with the French designer Louis Bosi (brand name Ilrin / Jlrin). These iconic lights used specially engineered blue and white glass filters to mimic natural, colour-corrected daylight.
