Join Lily Pad’s Fall Beginner Mahjong League — five Wednesday evenings of tiles, laughter, and friendly competition! Whether you’re sharpening your skills or just love playing with friends, this league is for you. Over the season, you’ll improve your game, meet fellow players, and compete for prizes in our welcoming parlor. This league is just for beginners and pace of play is 3-4 games per night (~2hours). 🍁Schedule August 19th · League Night (6:30 - 8:30 PM) September 2nd · League Night (6:30 - 8:30 PM) September 16th · League Night (6:30 - 8:30 PM) September 30th · League Night (6:30 - 8:30 PM) October 14th · Championship Night (6:30 - 8:30 PM) Beginner: Best 3 scores of the first 4 games each night count Substitutes are allowed (see policy below). 🍁Registration Includes all 5 sessions Eligible for weekly prizes & championship prize 🍁Skill Level Beginner: Mahjong 101 or equivalent required, slower pace of play, still learning NMJL card and rules Friend requests honored first week of play. 🍁Sub Policy Can’t make a night? Send a substitute or let us help you find a sub and their score will count toward your total. Subs may still win weekly prizes. Your first sub is "free", meaning you will receive their full score, second time you need a sub will have a 25% reduction to their score, and 3rd+ will be 50% reduction to their score. League Registration Notice Please register for the league that best matches your current skill level. Our Beginner League is reserved for beginner players who are still building confidence with the game. If you are already playing at an intermediate or advanced level, please do not register for the Beginner League, even if your preferred league has sold out. To keep the experience fair and enjoyable for everyone, we reserve the right to move registrations to the appropriate league or cancel a registration if it does not match the intended skill level. If we need to move or cancel your registration due to a mismatch in skill level, your registration fee will be issued as store credit that can be used toward a future Lily Pad Mahjong purchase or event. All open play and league registrations are subject to the City of Chicago Amusement Tax, which we are required to collect by law.
