YOUTH STUDIO: Paint at the Easel. A Guided Studio Experience. It’s time to step up to the easel! Designed especially for young artists ages 11–17, Paint at the Easel lets students experience what it feels like to work independently at a standing artist’s easel with real art materials. Rather than having everyone copy the same painting step by step, we’ll begin with simple guidance on looking at a subject, finding the big shapes, planning a composition, choosing colors, and noticing lights and darks. Then each young artist will head to their easel and create their own interpretation. Students will receive guidance and encouragement as they work, but the creative decisions are theirs. At the end, we’ll bring the paintings together and see how a group of artists can look at the same subject and create completely different works of art. Young artists will explore: Painting at a standing easel Planning a composition Looking for shapes and proportions Color and value Basic acrylic painting techniques Developing their own artistic point of view No previous painting experience is necessary. All materials are included, including a canvas panel, acrylic paints, brushes, palettes, and use of our studio easels. Saturday, September 26, 2026 11 AM–1 PM Ages 11–17 $20 per student Your easel.
