20th C. English Chinoiserie Ebonized Gilt Tripod Drinks Table

A charming side or drinks table crafted in an English Regency style with Chinoiserie decoration. Intentionally distressed lacquer patina on the ebonized hardwood with gilt accents. The table features a tripod base constructed with three ebonized legs having turned banded ring details in gilt tones. The legs sit atop an tripartite plinth base with outswept legs. The table is topped by a circular top with a molded gilt rim. The top has a beautifully distressed surface of gilt Chinoiserie accents of foliate splays and florals in the Asian aesthetic. The top is painted in a moriage (raised pigment) style with Asian motifs. Crafted in the early 20th century in the Chinoiserie revival period of western Europe with English Regency influence. The table is well-suited for a variety of spaces as a side or occasional table, drink table, accent table, plant stand, or display stand.
