Handmade Oblong Textured Platter

Handcrafted in New York, this sculptural stoneware platter features a hand-pressed startburst pattern. The plate is then brushed with black slip and covered with a transparent iron-colored celadon that results in a deep layered brown effect. The organic textured surface adds interest to this functional display piece. Ideal for holding keys or small keepsakes, it brings a refined decorative touch to a vanity, console, or desk. Both practical and artful, it layers beautifully into collected interiors. Hand-built and kiln-fired, every piece is one of a kind and part of a small series by ceramic artist Nancy Hirschmann.
