In Diné (Navajo) culture, holy deity Spider Woman gifted the Diné people with the art of weaving, and her counterpart Spider Man created the weaving loom. Eye dazzler weavings emerged during the late 1800s to early 1900s and are known for their bright colors and intricate designs. Taught to weave by his mother Irene, at the time of its creation, this rug was the largest Ivan had woven.
