Georgian Paste Rivière

An antique Georgian black dot paste rivière necklace, dating to the early 19th century. The necklace is set with a graduated row of round black dot paste stones in silver cut-down collet settings with gold-backed casings, a characteristic construction of the period. The casings have been tested as approximately 7ct gold, while the mounts have been tested as sterling silver (925). The necklace is in good overall condition, with the clasp in full working order. There are minor surface scratches and light wear to the metal and paste, consistent with age. A classic and highly wearable example of Georgian paste jewellery, offering the elegance of a diamond rivière at a fraction of the cost. Measures approximately 42cm Weight: 41.82g
