Pilot's Control Stick

A military jet's control stick from the latter part of the Cold War era. The stick has five control buttons/trigger to actuate various different aircraft systems, additional to the movement of the stick itself. The top centre button is the only one labelled; Nose Up/ Nose Down - adjusts elevator trim and therefore pitch, to make the plane climb or descend. LWD/RWD (Left Wing Down, Right Wing Down) adjusts aileron trim and therefore roll, to keep the wings perfectly level. We have had the control stick mounted on a milled solid aluminium base. Dimensions: 25.5 cm/10 inches (max. height) x 12.75 cm/5 inches (base diameter).
