A robust business keyring engraved onto 5mm FSC-certified Moso bamboo (certificate RINA-COC-001256) — thick enough to genuinely stand up to daily use, keys and pocket wear, where thinner bamboo can flex and crack over time. This 100×50mm oval format wasn't something we could previously offer in bamboo — our original 3mm stock is too fragile at this larger size, though it remains a great choice for smaller 3mm bamboo business keyrings. Bamboo is naturally water-resistant, so it copes well with rain, damp hands and everyday knocks, and it's one of the fastest-renewing materials we use, reaching harvestable size in a fraction of the time hardwood takes. Oak veneer gives a warmer, more traditional wood-grain finish and makes use of the MDF core rather than solid timber; bamboo is naturally water-resistant and one of our fastest-renewing materials. Both are genuinely different materials, not one an upgrade on the other — it comes down to which look and material story suits your brand. Why wasn't this size available in bamboo before? Our original 3mm bamboo works well for smaller keyrings, but at this larger 100×50mm size it's more vulnerable to splitting under everyday handling — a well-documented property of how bamboo's fibres bond, not a manufacturing defect. This 5mm range solves that: a thicker cross-section gives real resistance to the kind of pressure a keyring sees in daily use.
