This intensive 32-hour course takes everything you learned in Level 1 and propels you into the world of real coastal touring. Designed for paddlers ready to leave sheltered bays behind, Level 2 immerses you in more challenging and dynamic conditions while building the skills, judgment, and confidence needed for multi-hour and multi-day coastal journeys. Throughout the course you will master: Advanced coastal navigation, chart work, tide & current interpretation, and trip planning Daily weather analysis and forecasting for safe decision-making New strokes and manoeuvres for precision control in wind, waves, and current Comprehensive rescue techniques, including assisted and self-rescues in rougher water Combat rolling and rolling progression in realistic conditions Group management, pacing, and leadership on the water By graduation, you’ll paddle with ease and assurance in moderate wind, swell, and current — fully prepared for extended coastal adventures and ready to progress toward instructor training or independent touring. What's included: 4 full days of instruction by a certified Paddle Canada instructor, certification upon successful completion of the course Dates: Saturday August 22, 2026 - Tuesday August 25, 2026 Location: Victoria Area (exact location will be determined by instructor in the week leading up to the course) Prerequisites: Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills certification (or equivalent) Certification earned: Paddle Canada Level 2 Skills Please bring: Kayak, Paddle, Spray skirt, Pump, Paddle float, PFD, Whistle, 50ft floating rope, Lunch and snacks, Clothing appropriate for immersion, Sun screen (RENTALS: Rental equipment is available upon request)
