Belen Tapia/ Santa Clara Pottery
Belen Tapia was the daughter of Tomas and Maria Tafoya. She began her pottery career in the early 1930's and passed in 1999. Throughout her career she was known for both her skillfully carved pieces as well as her colorful polychrome pieces. This colorful pieces features a lovely red polished base with colorful feather designs painted using various natural clay slips. An innovative artwork that showcased Tapia's mastered skills in traditional techniques. A lovely addition to any collection or a wonderful gift for collector of unique works of Pueblo pottery. Jar measures 6-1/2" long and wide, stand 8" tall Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
