Jean-Pierre Maury was a leading figure of what he termed the 'mouvance construite' — the constructed- art movement that flourished in Belgium and France from the 1980s onward. In 1988 he co-founded, with painters including Marcel-Louis Baugniet, Jo Delahaut and Léon Wuidar, the review Mesures art international.
