Functional DetailsThe 8245 dormitory/exit function allows the outside lever or knob to be locked and unlocked by key, while the deadbolt is thrown and retracted by key from the outside or by turn unit from the inside. Rotating the inside lever retracts both the latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously for immediate free egress at all times. Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key outside or thumbturn inside. Latchbolt operated by lever from either side except when outside is locked by key. Inside lever always free for immediate egress, retracting both latchbolt and deadbolt.
