Held in our friendly Seddon studio in Melbourne’s West, these small‑group workshops are the perfect introduction to sewing — or a chance for more experienced young makers to build on their skills. WINTER '26 SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM Available full day classes (9.30am - 3:30pm for beginner and 9:30am - 4:30 pm for Beginner + and Intermediate Classes) Beginner classes (little to no experience) Tuesday June 30 - Design and Make a Plushie Tuesday July 7 - Make a Patchwork Cushion Wednesday July 8 - Design and Make a Plushie Beginner + classes (some sewing experience) Wednesday July 1 - Make a Hoodie Thursday July 9 - Cosy Pyjama Pants Friday July 10 - Make a Hoodie Intermediate classes (teen class) Thursday July 2 - Sew Your Own Way (teens bring their own free choice project) Custom classes - Half day beginner classes (2 - 4 students) and other custom classes may be available at other times during the holiday period. Class Details Small groups (maximum 4 students) Full‑day classes (or enquire about custom half‑days for 2 - 4 beginners) All materials and equipment provided for smaller projects, students will need to bring along their favourite fabrics for clothing projects Location Classes are held at the Dusty Disco Ball studio in Seddon, Melbourne, easily accessible from Footscray, Yarraville, Newport and surrounding inner‑west suburbs. Places are limited and bookings are essential. School Holiday Sewing Class FAQs Do kids need sewing experience? No experience is needed at all. Beginners are very welcome and guided step‑by‑step. Some experience is recommended for beginner + and intermediate/teen classes. Are sewing machines and materials provided? All sewing machines, tools and all materials for smaller projects are provided. For larger projects students are encouraged to bring the recommended fabrics, though suitable upcycled fabric will always be available if you forget! What age are the classes suitable for? Classes are suitable for kids and teens aged 9 and up. Are classes suitable for neurodivergent children? Yes.
