Its polyethylene (PE) sheath is resistant to UV radiation, sunlight and moisture. The cable can be installed into ducts, trays or buried in tubing underground. The UV CAT6 cable has numerous applications, although Outdoor Wireless and IP surveillance tend to be the most popular. The shielding layer made of aluminium foil allows to minimize crosstalk and interference with the external environment. Shielding provides an electrically conductive barrier to attenuate electromagnetic waves external to the shield, and provides a conduction path by which induced currents can be circulated and returned to the source, via ground reference connection.
