Weaving and Fiber Crafts for Children - Rhonda Fargnoli - Sat. 8/1
Saturday, August 1 10:00-1:00, 3 hours About this class: Children will be introduced to the art of weaving and fiber exploration through hands-on making. Using small wooden looms, children will learn basic weaving techniques, experiment with texture, and create their own woven pieces. We will also explore natural dyeing, using plants and natural elements to color yarn, encouraging curiosity about color, nature, and process. This class emphasizes patience, creativity, and sensory exploration—perfect for both first-time makers and curious young artists. This class is meant for children ages 5-10. Level: Beginner What you’ll need to bring to class: None About the instructor: Artist, educator, and textile designer Rhonda Fargnoli: Rhonda’s impact as an art educator spans generations. It is not uncommon for her to meet former students and find herself now teaching their children. That type of legacy in arts education is rare, and it speaks to the kind of creative spark and confidence she nurtures in the classroom. I have taught several years at VK Live, RISD and have worked with Eileen Fisher. I would love to teach a weaving or natural dye class for children while their mom’s shop. I lived in the Seattle and SF Bay Area prior to moving back East. I teach and I also own a gallery with my daughter. Please note - Marketplace tickets are not included in the class price and will need to be purchased separately. In order to allow our instructors to prepare for their classes, we are not able to refund class purchases if your plans change. However, we are happy to transfer them if you find someone to take your place!
