MANAGEMENT OF NEUROCRITICAL CARE
Patients hospitalized in intensive care units due to neurological diseases constitute a significant portion of the population. Morbidity rates in these patients are high, placing additional burden on the social security system. The follow-up and treatment of these patients differs from other intensive care patients. For example, the use of extracorporeal systems is minimized in patients with intracranial hemorrhage and ARDS. Furthermore, the regulation of fluid and electrolyte balance differs from that of other patients. Early and accurate diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment are crucial for these patients. CNS imaging and imaging methods are crucial for this purpose. This book focuses particularly on imaging methods, with nuclear medicine imaging also being a topic. A multidisciplinary approach to treating these patients is essential. Neurocritical care is a collaborative field of study involving neurosurgeons, neurologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, intensive care specialists, anesthesiologists and reanimation specialists, infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, pharmacologists, and even artificial intelligence software developers. This book is divided into sections based on the reasons for patient admission to neurocritical care, and these sections are written by specialist. Considering recent developments, this book has become an up-to-date reference resource on neurocritical care. Furthermore, the book is enriched with numerous visuals. I extend my gratitude to my fellow authors for their study. I hope this book will serve as a resource for more comprehensive studies.
