Sarracenia alata var. atrorubra is a highly prized carnivorous pitcher plant native to eastern Mississippi and Alabama. Distinguished by its intense scarlet to deep maroon-red colouration - occasionally approaching black - this variety displays dramatic pigmentation across the entire pitcher and lid, with dark veining often visible on interior surfaces.
