Every year in May and June, the Tammie Norries arrive by the millions to the stormy North Sea coasts of Scotland. You can see this sweet little birds all over Orkney setting up their nesting colonies. Tammie Norrie is the old Scots word for Puffin, and on the Shetland Isles it can also refer to a foolish looking man. This makes the name all the more appropriate for this funny little bird, often referred to also as 'little clown'. Their personalities are known to be playful, clumsy and surprisingly relaxed even around humans. Steven Cooper started his career in jewellery making in 1987 whilst still at school in Orkney. His passion led him to work for a local jeweller for 10 years where he honed his master craftsman skills and developed his own unique designs and techniques. In 1998 he set up Aurora Jewellery with the intention of maintaining the highest standards for originality in design as well as traditional hand crafting.
