This webinar will explore the overlapping areas of responsibility in the delegated design of structural steel elements including connections, joists, deck, stairs, and facade support, and the gaps that often occur. Additionally, the session will cover the roles of EOR and specialty engineer or specific product engineer. Examples of improper delegation and miscommunicated responsibilities that resulted in failures, cost overruns and delays in schedule will be presented. Lastly, there will be a discussion regarding ways to organize projects so that they are successful, with a focus on friendly collaboration. This webinar is provided by the Steel Joist Institute.
