1st edition, Knopf. Unclipped DJ remarkably free of any tears or paper loss - some gentle handling/age present, light discoloration near bottom of cover with faint trace of former library sticker, faint trace of library sticker near colophon on spine as well, a slight crease on back cover; both pastedowns have former library paper glued to them, a sticker on flyleaf with "withdrawn" stamps, stamps also present on title page but no pocket or residual library glue present on rear pages, some scuffing to bottom-edge of the text block, common in books this size, cream quarter cloth of spine & titling clean, library stamp at top-edge of text block; binding very firm, text unmarked. A nice copy of McElroy's modernist tome with all ex-lib stickers/stamps photographed for transparency.
